About Gourba

Gourba, whose parents are Mapuwa and Kidole, was named after a Ranger who died in the line of duty. We almost lost this Gourba too when, on 29 January 2004 she became seriously ill. Thankfully the vets intervened and saved her life.
Sadly Gourba’s mother wasn’t so fortunate. Kidole led an eventful life, she left Mapuwa to join Lulengo, and then left Lulengo to join Mareru. She then gave birth to a stillborn baby and died six months later, in 2009, of old age, kidney disease and, perhaps, of grief.
